Maison Sax

Don't you just LOVE when a new eatery sparks a fresh buzz in your neighbourhood?

Ashley Cross welcomed Maison Sax to the restaurant scene in September, a 70-cover, wholesome British Bistro and Bar. I worked closely with local Restaurateur, David Sax, to handle Staff Recruitment, Project Management and act as the central point of contact between the Graphic Design and Social Media Teams, Builders, Press & Media and Service Providers. I was especially passionate about this project (as I'm a massive foodie!) and always have a soft spot for hospitality

The project spanned an 8 week period, throughout which I was on-demand for David. We began taking a holistic view of the kind of team David required, and with a combination of local advertising and word of mouth, we formed a strong front of house and kitchen family.

I was responsible for shortlisting candidates, liaising with them to arrange interviews, as well as drawing up official contracts and terms of business.

In the background, I worked alongside Jason at Candy Black to help gather Maison Sax's marketing material. I handled editing and creation of the Staff Training Manual, editing of Web and Social copy, as well as overseeing Menu revisions and Vouchers. As with any sprint to a restaurant launch, there were inevitable technology hurdles and emergency print runs to be made. These last minute requirements are where I loved being able to help the most and where I truly believe having a VA is most valuable!

I later took care of event planning for the launch; this covered invitations, monitoring of the guest list, answering emails and enquiries on David's behalf, liaising with the video production team to ensure the desired content was captured on the night and liaising with staff ahead of their very first shift.

It was a privilege to have supported David with his long-awaited return to the restaurant scene.
