MyTop Eateries in Dorset
If you're anything like me, you Live to Eat rather than Eat to Live.
In a bid to prove Bournemouth's qualities don't just include white beaches and stag parties, I've put together a smörgåsbord of the best eateries in town, to help sort the wheat from the chaff.
Best Posh Treat
Rick Stein, Sandbanks
Renowned for his classically understated seafood, Stein's in Sandbanks is firmly on the map for a special occasion.
Spread across two floors, expect an eclectic menu inspired by Rick's travels. You'll be wow'd by dazzling views of Poole Harbour and a refreshingly casual take on fine-dining.
Have the sushi, the Dover Sole A Le Meuniere, Lobster Thermidor, Oysters Charentaise
Go on a Sunday lunchtime for a seriously buzzy vibe

Best hidden gem (and personal favourite)
South Deep
This little hideaway sure knows how to charm. I don't know if it's the tall grass reeds and clinking masts or the effortlessly laid-back vibe but there's something ironically Deep-South-America about this place. Nestled in Parkstone Bay Marina, this was originally opened for local sailing folk after a day out, but punters flock from all over to enjoy the consistently fresh food and chilled atmosphere.
Have the Fish Shoup, Pan-fried Seabass, the Meatballs, Angus Beef Burger
Go any day of the week, I'll probably go right now actually
LoveRating 9/10
Best rustic spot
Jerkshak @ The Scott Arms, Worth Matravers
Jerk Chicken. Rum Punch. Knock-out views of the Purbecks and softly streaming Reggae tunes. It doesn't get much better than the Jerkshak pop-up in Kingston. Aptly situated, this place is every inch the authentic Caribbean feast. Nicky Coppack runs the show in the back garden of this 18th century building. This is the perfect post-walk spot to sit outdoors with friends and treat your taste buds. Mouth is genuinely watering as I write this. (Be warned: the Mongolian Curry packs a spicy punch)
Have the Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat, Akee and Saltfish
Go on a sun splashed weekend in summer
LoveRating if the sun is out, no less than an even 10/10
Best for nibbles
The Pig on the Beach, Studland
The fourth brainchild in the Pig Group, this Hogwarts-style hangout is another idyllic Dorset spot. In keeping with its signature style, the Hotel is effortlessly rural-chic, offering a Greenhouse restaurant, sumptuous Bar and a Private Dining room for dinner parties. For me, the Flatbreads and casual dining out on the terrace far outshines the A La Carte menu inside. It has to be said, the service can be a little 'stuffy' at times but nibbles outside and fuss-free ordering is a recipe for an amazing outing during summer.
Best traditional hideaway
The Guildhall Tavern, Poole
I love the fact that you can expect to see the same faces here 15 years later; all of which bring passion and pride to loyal punters.
The Guildhall is renowned for French Seafood Classics with many house specialities offering locally-landed ingredients.
Pitched in the heart of Poole's Old Town, this quaint little bistro is buzzy, vibrant and consistently good. Ideal for a big family affair.
Have the Escargot, Turbot, Crab Linguine
Go on a Saturday night
